Description:

The Jordan Mansion is a limited collection of eight bespoke private residences overlooking the Boston Common. Originally constructed in the late 19th century by Eben Dyer Jordan Sr., co-founder of the legendary Jordan Marsh Company and one of Boston’s most influential retail pioneers, the Jordan Mansion began as a distinguished private home reflecting the family’s rising prominence.

In the early 20th century, Jordan's son, Eben Dyer Jordan Jr., expanded and transformed the property with extraordinary ambition and vision. Under his direction, the celebrated architectural firm Haven & Hoyt redesigned the mansion with a Renaissance-Revival façade, grand interior proportions, and elevated detailing reflecting a commitment to elegance that continues to define the home today in its contemporary return to private grandeur.

Each home is accessed by direct elevator entry, ensuring privacy and elegance from the moment of arrival. Grand living rooms feature soaring ceilings and sweeping vistas of the Common. Master suites are luxuriously scaled—some opening to private terraces—and every residence includes spa-caliber en suite baths. Kitchens are outfitted with Sub-Zero & Wolf professional appliances: Designer Series integrated refrigeration, Cove dishwashers, wall ovens, warming drawers, and (in the Penthouse) a Wolf range top with a flush glass ceiling hood. Cabinetry is custom crafted by Walter Lane with bronze detailing—a sophisticated balance of traditional craftsmanship and modern line. All plumbing fixtures throughout are by Dornbracht, a global benchmark in refined European design.

The mansion’s infrastructure has been elevated to modern excellence with new high-efficiency Mitsubishi HVAC and ERV fresh-air systems, fully integrated security systems, and pre-wired window systems for automated shades. Historic windows have been thoughtfully restored on the second level, while all other windows and exterior doors are newly crafted by Belisle in solid African Mahogany—offering exceptional durability, elegance, and thermal comfort. Residences enjoying skylights feature newly fabricated custom units with integrated shades, filling spaces with soft natural light.

A rare luxury in Beacon Hill, The Jordan Mansion also offers on-site garage parking and the service of a dedicated concierge, bringing effortless convenience to this timeless address.
