100 Beacon is an architectural landmark where Beacon Hill meets the Back Bay. Built during the roaring 20’s as part of the rage toward New York style apartment buildings, this building was originally scheduled to house no less than forty apartments on ten floors. As market conditions changed over the years, and as demand rose for high-end condominiums with exceptional services near the Public Garden, this building underwent a fantastic transformation within the last decade to include sixteen elegant residences.
On the exterior, elaborate window casings, cartouches and an intricate cornice that had been removed over the years were restored to the original architect’s specifications. On the interior, wall after wall was removed to create gracious full-floor and half-floor units with commanding views of both the Charles River and Public Garden. In this newest iteration, 100 Beacon Street is filled with light and truly represents the pinnacle of 21st century city living.
