I have used Susan Cohen at Campion and Company since I first moved to Boston in 2007. Having relocated from the West Coast, she came highly recommended by a colleague. I can say with certainty the level of service provided and attention to my needs has not gone unnoticed by myself or the multiple friends I've referred to her since. When I was searching for my first property in the city, Susan was an expert at narrowing down the number of properties that met my criteria, and after looking at only three, I was surprised to find myself being comfortable enough to make an offer on our second day of looking which was accepted, and I didn't feel rushed in the least. Rather, having a competent agent has made me confidant that in my purchases, and I've bought another property with her assistance in the city since. I recently closed on a new property on Beacon Hill in Boston, and offered to write this letter of recommendation for Bill Gehan in appreciation for the outstanding job he did helping me find and purchase my new home.
I first met Bill three-four years ago during a search that resulted in no decision to purchase. I was impressed at the time by Bill’s understanding of what I was looking for, his efficient and professional approach, and his sincere interest in helping me find the right place.
As a result I sought Bill out again last fall when I decided to get back into the market. He remembered me right away, and as it turns out, nailed exactly the place I was looking for on our first visit. I wasn’t ready to decide so quickly, so he then proceeded to tirelessly show me every viable alternative in order to help me reacquaint with the market, and lest I find something I liked better. I always found him to always be responsive, helpful, trustworthy, and objective – I never felt I was being pushed to decide prematurely or in favor of a less than ideal outcome.
When I decided to make an offer on the first place I’d seen, Bill gave me excellent information and advice, which helped me decide how to approach the negotiation, and ultimately resulted in a successful outcome. Bill’s advice was also very helpful during a more complicated than usual negotiation around the Purchase and Sale Agreement.
Once the Agreement was signed, I frankly expected Bill to take more of a back seat with his work largely done. But instead I found him as responsive, helpful, and professional as ever, whether it was getting contractors access to the building at any time, meeting with the inspector, helping with the legal process, recommending a decorator, helping me take measurements, or physically lugging sample rugs up the stairs to try them in the new place.
Bill is an absolute delight to work with and the consummate professional in every sense. I would happily encourage anyone I know to work with him, and offer this letter as a way of recommending his services to people I don’t know.
I've always dreaded buying a home. I've bought a couple before my current home and frankly, I didn't like the process. Most often the Realtors I worked with showed me homes I didn't like and many I wouldn't consider living in. I wound up doing most of the work, getting little valuable advice or service, and settling for purchases I was not excited about. When the time came to sell them, the process was not much better and in some ways worse. The Realtor would generally try to price the home at a price-point where they would make the most money with the least amount of work, or so it seemed to me.
All that changed when we worked with Bill Gehan, my current Realtor, and as long as he's in the business, my Realtor for life. Bill took the time to understand exactly what we wanted to buy, and showed us many quality homes that he found. He gave us access to his powerful professional tools that truly made a difference in giving us valuable information. Since we were selling our old home and he was handling both transaction, he did wonders in making our place "show" in the best possible light, and not just with advice, but working with and coordinating the contractors and workers required. He was a pleasure to work with: patient, energetic, informed, pleasant and hard working. The complete opposite of any other Realtor I've worked with. The end result is that my wife and I now live in a beautiful home we love.
